Horeke School Annual Plan 2026
Summary of the plan
Our annual plan for the upcoming year is centred on creating a dynamic and relevant educational experience for our pupils. This plan encompasses multiple facets, with a primary focus on improving assessment practices, implementing a local curriculum for relevance, nurturing students' self-awareness and self-efficacy in learning and behaviour, and ensuring that our literacy and numeracy pedagogy aligns seamlessly with these objectives.
Where we are currently at:
As of now, Horeke School is facing several challenges that necessitate significant improvements in various aspects of its educational programme. Here's an overview of the school's current status:
Developing clear and consistent data tracking :
Horeke School is developing clear and consistent formative data regarding student performance and progress . This data implementation ( BSLA - Reading, Snapshot- Maths and E Astle - writing) is allowing the school to make informed decisions, track student growth, and assess the effectiveness of teaching strategies. This is to accelerate student achievement
Local Rich Curriculum Implementation:
To continue to develop a curriculum more relevant to the pupils, the school recognises the importance of implementing a local, culturally rich curriculum. This approach can engage students by incorporating local culture, values, and community-specific knowledge into the learning process. This development is in line with the curriculum lead from M.O.E
Accelerated Learning Goals:
Horeke School aims to raise academic standards and facilitate accelerated learning for its students. Achieving this goal requires a comprehensive overhaul of pedagogy, teaching practices, and assessment methods.
Staff Training and Professional Development (PLD):
The training they currently have is based on Hitt programme which dissects what effective teaching pedagogies are that accelerate pupil learning
Staff members at Horeke School require training and professional development to address gaps in curriculum and pedagogy knowledge. The school has attended and held maths PLD at school for the new Maths curriculum
